Tithes and Offerings

Do you know it is a sin not to pay tithes and offerings ? non payment of tithes and offerings is something the Almighty frowns upon .

The bible says in Malachi 3:10 -Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. Tithing (acting of paying tithes) is Gods command and when you refuse to pay your tithes you are robbing God. You mean if i do not pay my tithes , i am robbing God. Yes ,capital YES  . In the book of Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. When a man robs God he is stealing from God Malachi 3:9 -You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation .

I appeal to you brethren God dislikes people thieves and robbers,whether through tithes and offerings or any other way. If you steal from man or God you putting yourselves under a curse. Zechariah 5:3-4 And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. 4The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in his house and destroy it, both its timbers and its stones.’”Proverbs 1:19-Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it .  Brethren i pray that God will have mercy and forgive . If you have stole from someone or robbed any one please go and make restitution today.

We have been able to establish that stealing is a sin,if it were not a sin God will not curse thieves. Stealing is a sin and sin has its own rewards . The bible made us to understand that Solomon is the wisest man God created. In 2 chronicles 6, King Solomon established that sin has rewards .Below are some of the rewards of sin  :
1)   Sin causes unanswered prayers – 2 chronicles 2:21 Hear the supplications of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.

2) Sin causes us to loose battles and our possessions-  2 chronicles 2:24-25 “When your people Israel have been defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you and when they turn back and give praise to your name, praying and making supplication before you in this temple, ²⁵ then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them back to the land you gave to them and their ancestors.

3) Sin causes the heavens to be shut -2 chronicles 2:26-27 “When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them, ²⁷ then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance.

4)Sin causes famine and hunger 2 chronicles 2:28-30  “When famine or plague comes to the land, or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers, or when enemies besiege them in any of their cities, whatever disaster or disease may come, ²⁹ and when a prayer or plea is made by anyone among your people Israel-being aware of their afflictions and pains, and spreading out their hands toward this temple- ³⁰ then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive, and deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know their hearts (for you alone know the human heart),

4) Sin causes us to be captives    2 chronicles 2:36-39 “When they sin against you-for there is no one who does not sin-and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to a land far away or near; ³⁷ and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity and say, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong and acted wickedly’; ³⁸ and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name; ³⁹ then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their pleas, and uphold their cause. And forgive your people, who have sinned against you.
If you have been robbing God in your tithes and offerings please stop . If you have been robbing people in a way please stop today.
I pray that the Almighty God will forgive all our sins in Jesus name .I pray that God will give us the grace and the ability to obey his words . I pray for the grace to honor God in our tithes and offering .
